Be a beauty queen

Be a beauty queen

Don’t have mile-long legs, beautiful flowing hair, bedroom eyes, a perfect set of pearly whites and a traffic-stopping figure? That doesn’t really matter; you can still be a beauty queen in your own right.

Anyone, including the frumpiest person, can shine if they make an effort to improve their looks. If you want a great body, healthier hair and blemish-free skin, you should expect to work hard and be disciplined in striving towards your goals. It will be well worth it in the end, when you look your best and exude more self-confidence.

Not everyone is born a beauty queen, but everyone has some good features that can be enhanced. It is evident from the many examples of makeovers shown in the media that we can easily improve our looks by making some changes in our dressing, hairstyle and use of make-up.

The challenges however, are being bold enough to take that first step towards changing our image, and being consistent in adopting and maintaining those necessary beauty-enhancing lifestyle habits. But strive we must, for being a true beauty queen means making the most of oneself in every way!

Tips for becoming a beauty queen

  • You don’t have to be stick-thin to look good. But if you do need to lose some weight, it is far better to follow a sensible diet and regular exercise programme than to go for extreme measures like liposuction or crash dieting. A balanced, nutritious diet is vital because it’ll literally make you glow – your skin, hair and nails will have a healthy sheen; and of course, you’ll look and feel great!

  • Let’s face it – it’s no use being beautiful if you’re boring and not very bright. If you’ve watched beauty contests, you would surely have had a good chuckle over some of the half-witted lines spouted by the beautiful contestants during those nerve-wracking answer-and-question segments. Beauty and brains are always a winning combination, so do make an effort to enhance your grey cells too, by reading widely, continually learning new things and always taking an interest in the world around you.

  • One of the most beautiful features anyone can sport is a smile. If you strive to be a happier, kinder and more positive, generous and contented person, and succeed in mastering the art of inner peace, you’ll automatically develop a special aura that’ll definitely make you appear beautiful in everyone’s eyes!
